Working Student Electrical Engineering (R&D)

What we offery We are a fast growing startup working on biomedical testing devices.
In our R&D group, you’ll be part of a young team that tests and designs new products and works on further development on existing projects. Because of the interdisciplinary and developmental stage of the projects you will learn a lot about product development from early stages to market, while having an exceptional amount of freedom and responsibilty for each project.

General Summary: The working student will work on the software and UI of a R&D stage medical device. He will be given tasks for inventing or pursuing new technology working on early stage R&D projects from ideation through pre-clinical stages and transition to NPD.

Essential Job Functions:

Working student position (Software-) Engineer focused on the development of a hand-held medical device for point of care (POC) testing.

Design and development of algorithms for data analysis and creation of an UI for use in a laboratory or clinical setting.

Provides technological support to other departments to bring prototype-stage products to market and provides supporting research once they are in the market. Helps maintaining existing products by solving technical problems and providing product improvements.

Discloses inventions for patent application and supports their prosecution.

Works with the Scientists and Engineers within our Research, Technology and Innovation group to develop a solid understanding of clinical, business and customer needs.

Scope Of Position Responsibilities

The ideal applicant should be highly motivated to work in a biomedical startup. This means a high degree of freedom, but it also requires the ability to work independently and cooperate and communicate well within a team.

Must have working knowledge in the following areas:

C++, Java, Swift

Additional desired skills:

Working knowledge of medical device software,
Approval process of medical device software at FDA and EMA.

Good interpersonal skills both written & verbal and the ability to work underl minimal supervision.

Education:

BS, or MS in Software Engineering, Informatics, Medical, Medical Technology, Biomedical Engineering or related fields.

Experience:

Medical device R&D experience or internship preferred
